I’m supporting these charities because they have been two parts to my working life, the Fire service and Marine conservation, particularly marine mammals. I have chosen charities to support that reflect this.
Update. Given the recent invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent humanitarian crisis I have decided to amend my challenge to also raise funds for relief efforts. The emergency workers in Ukraine are doing a truly amazing job under the most horrific conditions and risks. After every bombing they are there looking to rescue casualties and am sure they are viewed as legitimate targets as there is no regard for human life or international laws.
